About

BioAdvance was founded as part of a two billion initiative by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to strengthen its commitment to the life sciences. BioAdvance received $33.8 million from the State’s share of tobacco settlement monies to spur the creation of life sciences jobs and businesses in the region. Its mission is to accelerate the growth of the life sciences industry in Southeastern Pennsylvania by transforming the region’s strengths in biomedical research and development into commercial opportunities. To fulfill its mission, BioAdvance will: invest in emerging life sciences technologies with the most promising commercialization prospects; accelerate the transfer of technology from research laboratories to start-ups and established companies; build collaborations between academic, entrepreneurial, corporate, financial, and government partners; and attract, retain and support life sciences entrepreneurs. Its website www.bioadvance.com serves as the primary portal for its initiatives including the Greenhouse Funding Program where applicants can apply online for funds to support their early stage projects, and Entrepreneurial Support Services that will help strengthen the link between entrepreneurs and resources in the region to ensure the availability of facilities, funding and talent.
