The Delaware Innovation Fund is a Delaware-based venture capital firm established to assist in the initial capitalization of pre-seed and early stage businesses with operations throughout the region. The Fund was established in 1995 and has invested in 17 high technology companies through 2001. One of the goals of the Fund is to promote early stage venture investments and job growth within high technology and proprietary companies throughout the region. The Fund provides investment funding in the form of both equity and long-term debt with royalty-based paybacks. The following funding is available:

• Demonstration funding is limited to a one-time availability and provides $10,000 to $25,000 to aid in establishing patents, business plans and proof of concept issues.
• Commercialization funding of up to $250,000 is provided for the commercialization process and may be available in multiple years.

The Delaware Innovation Fund strategy is to couple the invested dollars with counsel and, therefore, provide technical and strategic business planning assistance and counseling through the wide network of professional resources that are available to the Fund, as well as the expertise of its Board of Directors and staff.
